Extraterrestrial Life Forms on Mars

The thing that scientists have been trying to find out for centuries is extraterrestrial life. The planet that is the closest and more like Earth is Mars. Could it be possible that alien life can be found in Mars? If there is, what forms could be out there?

Mars 300x226 Extraterrestrial Life Forms on MarsDr. Max Coleman from NASA Jet Propulsion Lab presented a lecture regarding the possible existence of extraterrestrial life on Mars and beyond on February 4, 2012 at the Glendora Public Library Bidwell Forum.

Coleman is working as senior research scientist and at the same time principal scientist at NASA JPL, Caltech. His expertise focuses on studying life forms beyond Earth by formulating biosignature approaches and developing instruments.

Coleman discussed about the definition of life in science, the factors that keep life on Earth and if those conditions also exist on Mars and other planets. He further presented ways used by scientists to explore extraterrestrial life forms at present and at future explorations.

The presentation led by Coleman was part of a series of lectures made possible by JPL Speakers Bureau’s members. For more information about the series and Coleman’s talk, visit at www.glendoralibrary.org.
